Yes, automatic updates are active. So latest installed beta SW is 5.5.5.
I need to correct my earlier statement: I once installed the lock (during the initial setup) using HomeKit as well. However, I later deleted the device from HomeKit, since I didnāt see any additional benefit ā the integration in the Nuki app itself is sufficient for my use cases. Yesterday, I completely disabled Matter in the Nuki app. At least today, I havenāt experienced any motor blocking issues anymore (though there werenāt that many openings today). Iāll keep monitoring to see if this helps to eliminate the blocking motor problem.
I am convinced that the problems have to do with Matter.
Iām not yet fully convinced, but letās see ā āhope dies last,ā as we say in German. Maybe disabling Matter really is the key. Iāll keep testing and report back, even though the connection is completely unclear to me (the lock is a black box, as I donāt know anything about their software architecture). For now, Iām happy to cling to any straw in the hope that things will improve.
Donāt think Matter is the problem.
Iām using Matter via Home assistant (sinds beginning)
First my problem was 2x a month. Than 1ns a week and now almost everyday!
(I have a 1st one. Pre order version)
This behavior doesnāt look like software related issues.
More hardware failure.
2 friends of my also have a smart lock ultra. (1st editions)
They also use Matter and Home assistant.
They do not experience this problem.
(That also indicates i.m.o. Like a hardware problem regarding some models)
As seen from the attached screenshot, motor blocking is unfortunately still happening. As suspected, it doesnāt seem to be related to whether Matter is active or not. Now the ball is in Nukiās court to tell us more. I am a Test Manager ā please feel free to contact me if you need a professional testing setup in your company. ![]()
Damn⦠itās working fine for me anyway. But I donāt have the beta installed.
Swapping to mqtt did that drain battery faster than Matter connection?
Now Home assistant via Matter Apple TV.
I will swap to mqtt tomorrow and see if that changes for me too.
(Firmware 5.4.6)
@Nuki: If it turns out to be a hardware issue, please send me a replacement unit so I can double-check. Meanwhile, the competitors are gaining ground - Yale just introduced their new lock. Does anyone have experience with the Yale app?
This is the beta thread, for feedback about the beta firmware
What firmware are you using? Pro? Ultra?
Another broken yellow gear at 5.5.5⦠kindly ask for a patch.
Since 5.5.5 and 2 times Calibration everething works fine for me.
Using Thread.
Same here no issues at the moment ![]()
Swapped all settings from Matter - apple tv -home assistant.
To: mqtt -WiFi-home assistant
Firmware 5.4.6
After half a day testing another motorblok (unlatched holding)
So Matter or Mqtt with firmware 5.4.6 is still a problem.
This is the beta thread, so here is the place to give developers feedback about the beta firmware.
as mentioned further above Ultra on FW 5.5.5
@Nuki Please sent me new Ultra Lock in exchange to my existing one to see if issues are HW related as assumed here in the Forum. Issues are happening very frequently on my Ultra so it should be easy to identify if it is related to the HW or not.
Noticed that the issue is growing. Happened to me again today (no beta firmware sorry) no Matter but only app and WiFi connection.
If by pressing the bottom the key detach the latch is assume that is not hardware related but only software.
Hope for a fix otherwise the key become useless. I have two Airbnb homes so Iām testing it into my house and whatās happen if my guest doesnāt close the door?
