Is it possible to go back to a older Firmware?

Initial post has been updated with the release notes of the new Beta 5.5.5.

This release includes a critical bugfix for the enhanced motor control, which caused that the Smart Lock did not disengage itself properly after performing an unlatch action. This resulted in the lock being stuck in the mechanical edge, leading to really bad user experience and broken adapters on the Smart Lock Ultra.

We highly appreciate the numerous feedback provided from all out Beta testers and are eager to improve our products to achieve the best in class user experience. Please install this newest version and provide feedback in this channel in order to further shape the experience.

After installing 5.5.5, Nuki Ultra wont open the door properly. It s holding the cylinder open, but wouldnt release it anymore. Getting a message “motor jammed” in the app. Motor is stuck. After trying to lock the Nuki Ultra through the app, holding the button on the lock and pressing it numerous times, it would finally release the cylinder. Tried to recalibrate the smart lock, factory reset, nothing works.

Update: Matter integration also doent work anymore, “pairing failed”

Can confirm the latch issue: can’t get the ultra to work any more - always “motor blocked”. How can I remove from the beta program? FW version 5.5.5. Everything set to “standard” - was hoping at least that standard setting to be tested before rollout to customers.

Is it really so hard to fix that latch issue - First the issue was that the ultra was unable to open the latch now the problem is that the motor is always blocking after opening making it impossible to close the door - it holds the latch forever: why can’t the SW just turn off voltage supply to the motor after some time?

Few days ago even the yellow gear broke - at least meanwhile got a new one for free, however I am really unsatisfied with this product.

Problems since day 1 when the ultra was installed (now more than 8 month) and it seems to get even more worse
 Looks like “jugend forscht” and not like a professional company which charges 350 bucks for that crap.

One more hint: maybe the problem is related to the battery state of charge: even the app showed “90%” after I charged the battery to 100% at least I got the ultra out of the “not working at all” state.

Here still the same problem that has already been described above, despite the new Firmware Beta.

I have exactly the same problems and, in addition, AutoUnlock only works by chance. Jugend forscht brings better results than Nuki. I have also noticed for 8 months that it gets worse and worse. On 20.8. I wrote an (repeated) email that I want to return the Ultra. No response so far. I think that’s on purpose because the Ultra is the last piece of junk. I’m so angry, no one can imagine.
I have now removed the Ultra and will not use it anymore because I do not believe that Nuki is able to bring a functioning smart lock to market. I had similar difficulties with the 4Pro and thought the Ultra would be better

Is it possible that you’re all using Matter?
I also had the problems described.
I switched to Wi-Fi + MQTT.
Firmware 5.4.6 has been running without issues for weeks.

Same here, seems our lock is broken. Since we are on holiday I even can’t create a support ticket.
Our neighbour who feeds the cat told me that he is unable to get in but heard strange noises from the lock. Lukelly he was able to open the door with the key.

Either the motor or the yellow gear is broken.

Really annoying.

Now that the number of replies with broken yellow gears is increasing, the hope is that the pressure on Nuki will grow and we will see whether this can be fixed by software or if it is a hardware design failure. Yesterday, when my son came home, the motor blocked again and kept the latch pulled back with full force. When I checked the lock one hour later, the latch was still pulled back with full force. For me as an engineer, it is hard to understand why there is no timeout mechanism implemented in the software that would release the latch after some time by cutting the current to the motor.

On the other hand, the business of competitors is growing: could Tedee be a viable alternative to Nuki? Does anyone have experience with it? At least the forum looks familiar, and although there are a few reported issues, it’s hard to tell whether this product is more satisfactory overall.

At least the Nuki app looks good and promising (even if the communication between app and lock is slow), and for me there is still some hope that the product hiccups can be sorted out one day. But once things start breaking physically, it definitely becomes a no-go.

No: lock is not installed in HomeKit - just using the App itself.

Same here. Happens more frequently the last couple of weeks.

I have the smoothest door lock ever - I can take off the Ultra and actually operate it with two fingers.

See the screenshots from the last two days with the lock in action. I would say that every 4th or 5th attempt to open ends with a blocked motor. Sometimes the blocking doesn’t stop, even after manually pressing the button. Once, I tried to start calibration directly from such a blocked situation and was worried whether I would be able to use the lock again, since it remained in the “not calibrated” status without releasing the motor. Somehow, however, I managed to get it working again.

Guess not.

2 friends have same lock. (Smart lock ultra) No problems!
I notice I’m the only one having this unlatching problem.

And unlatched problem started after firmware update 5.4.6 for me.

Maybe it has noting to do with it. But it’s strange to me.

I also notice it’s happening more frequently.
Sometimes it makes this hissing sound unlatching.
(So I don’t think it’s software related)

Please come with a solution Nuki.
Or let us downgrade just to see if that will help.

After 5.5.4 and now on 5.5.5 it looks better for me
 I don’t know if its luckily but after firmware i recalibrate the lock and it looks much better :pray:

I had almost every version of the
nuki locks :lock: but this one isn’t as stable like the generations before
