Infrastructure Upgrade: Faster and More Reliable Experience

Introduction

We’re excited to announce a major infrastructure upgrade across our Smart Lock ecosystem.

We’ve reworked the way our devices and services interact, resulting in a faster, more stable, and overall improved experience. This update lays the foundation for future enhancements and a more seamless interaction with your Smart Lock.

Requirements

To benefit from this upgrade, please ensure the following:

  • Your Smart Lock (5th Gen) is updated to firmware version 5.8.3 or higher
  • Nuki App from version 2026.3.1 (iOS or Android)
  • No additional hardware is required

Setup Flow

Once your Smart Lock is updated, the transition will happen seamlessly in the background—no manual setup is needed.

What can you expect?

  • Improved speed and responsiveness when interacting with your Smart Lock
  • Smoother and more reliable communication between your device and the app
    • (Example: Faster loading times when opening the app and performing actions)

Known Limitations

As we continue improving the platform, please be aware of the following:

  • :watch: Apple Watch and WearOS LTE support is not yet available (Bluetooth usage still possible)
  • :truck: In-Home Delivery is currently not supported

The new firmware will be rolled out in stages, starting with the Smart Lock Pro, followed by the Smart Lock Ultra, and finally the Smart Lock Go.

Yes after the update already much better.

We experienced a brief, unrelated server issue that temporarily affected the new infrastructure, causing some devices to appear offline. This situation is resolved now. Let us know if you encounter any further issues.
