Hi All,
Following on from Unable to Add Nuki Smart Lock Pro Gen 5 to Apple HomeKit (Matter) – “Unable to Add Accessory” Error
I am having the same issue with my new Nuki Pro 5 Smart Lock. When following the instructions to set it up via the Nuki App, the process hands on “Setting up…” for about 5 minutes, before erroring out with a “Pairing with accessory failed” message.
I have already tried the following:
- Rebooted all involved devices, Nuki, iPhone, HomePods, router etc. Factory Reset the Lock
- Keypad and set them back up from scratch (Originally I restored from a backup as I have upgraded from a Nuki Pro 3)
- I have tried adding the lock through the Nuki App and through Apple Home
- I have tried adding the lock using both I Phone (15 Pro Max) and iPad (iPad Air 2024)
- Both of these devices are running 26.4.
- Confirmed all devices are on the Same Network
My Setup:
Internet - UniFI UDM Pro Max with U6-LR APs
Internet Speeds: 71.3 down, 15.2 up
Lock: Nuki Pro Gen 5 with Keypad 2 NFC
Nuki Lock Firmware: 5.7.9
HomeKit HomeHubs: 4x HomePod Minis, 2x HomePod Gen 2’s & 2x Apple TV 4K (1x Gen 1 & 2x Gen 2) (All running HomeOS 26.4)
I have checked I have at least 1 Matter compatible hub (HomePods) and I have disabled automatic home hub selection and selected one of my HomePod Gen 2’s as the preferred home hub.
What I need:
Has anybody managed to fix this issue?
Is this a known bug with the Pro 5 firmware?
Is this a certification / compatibility issue? I.e. do I need to replace my Apple TVs or purchase another bridge?
I have several other smart home devices connected to HomeKit, could either of these be causing issues with Matter / Thread? *see below)
Other Useful Information:
I have several other smart home devices paired to HomeKit such as Philips Hue, TP Link Tapo Plugs (via homebridge) Govee LED lights in my daughters bedroom (via homebridge) , Google Nest Thermostat (via homebridge) and Several Ring Cameras, incl. Alarm system (via homebridge) I also have 2x Hisense TVs connected to HomeKit
I do have a HomeKit server and a spare RPI to spin up a HA Server, but I’d rather integrate natively to make use of the NFC Keypad and Apple HomeKey
