Smart Lock Beta 5.9.1
(23.07.2026)

  • Overall performance and stability improvements
  • Resolved an issue where Auto-Lock failed to engage after being manually unlocked.

Since the 5.8.x thread is closed I thought I’d put this here.

I’m not part of the beta programme but the app is saying that my Ultra is running the beta of 5.8.10.

I’m using the iOS app version 2026.7.1

Running 5.9 beta (Installed automatically). first I would like to say that since 5.8.x beta now the "blocked motor error during the latch is gone).
I noticed only now an issue, so I don’t know if was previously there, that the timer for auto lock feature doesn’t works as expected. I deactivated it two days ago because I was talking with my friends near the home entrance and to avoid the auto lock I opened the app and deactivated during our talk.
After my friends was gone, I activated the feature again but from now the timed out lock doesn’t works at all.
I tried to turn it on and off but nothing, every time I found the key still open.
Any suggestion?

The switch to the new infrastructure is part of the 5.8.10 public rollout, which is currently being deployed in stages. While this process is underway, you might notice the release labeled as “beta” in your app. Rest assured, you are running the official public version, and the “beta” tag next to the release notes will disappear shortly.

The timer starts when either the door is closed (if you have a door sensor) or the door is unlocked/unlatched (if you do not have a door sensor). Did you have at least one trigger event since you turned on the feature?

I don’t have the sensor on the door so I set the timer to 15 minutes (I’m using the Nuki by months). I noticed that if I open the NUKI manually by rotating the knob, the timer is ignored. For example I’m exit from my home at 15:00 and opened the nuki manually. Usually when I close the door, externally I press the < button on the keypad but today I forgot to press. After one hour I opened the app and I found the NUKI “unlocked”, so the timer doesn’t closed the door.

Thanks for letting us know. We’ll look into it and aim to include a fix in the next beta release if we find the cause.

With Firmware Beta 5.8.10 is also an issue that when the lock is in night mode, when you unlock, it will sometimes not autolock after 5min. (I have 4 Smart Lock’s Pro)
And with the same firmware it doesn’t autolock when leaving (Geofence exit) which did work with the former firmwares. So all the 4 Lock’s not working with Geofence exit with the Beta 5.8.10 firmware.

Meanwhile I have installed firmware 5.8.11 but still no auto lock when leaving the 4 Nuki Pro’s. I am not sure if this is a firmware thing and/or in combination with the (beta) app version on IOS, or even an issue with the firmware of the iPhone itself.

All geofence based events are triggered by the App only. So if they do not happen, the App is not sending the lock command. Please report them in the App beta thread.

Does the problem go away after a reboot of the Keypad? (remove batteries and reinsert them / Batterien raus/rein).

Yes, went away by resetting the KeyPad.

Hi,
With the new firmware, 5.9.1, the battery level hasn’t moved from 100%. I don’t find it consistent.
Is anyone else having this happen?
Cheers

Hola,
Con el nuevo firmware, 5.9.1 el nivel de bateria no se ha movido del 100%. No lo veo coherente.
Le está pasando alguine más?
Saludos
