Smart Lock Pro 5th Gen Wifi Problems

Since few days i own a Smart Lock Pro 5th Gen (5.3.7) and i try to activate the integrated wifi. I want to lock/unlock the door over the web api but at the moment the connection is to unstable. The device lose the connection frequently and it get stuck in a state where it will not reconnect to the nuki server again.

The router is a Unifi Dream Router.

I tried many settings now (router and smart lock), some allow the device to connect and some even make problems on initial connection. Strange thing, the device is connected on router side shown in the graph below.

But even if the router say it is connected, it will not work. The longest online time was about 1 day. After that it went offline and couldn’t recover on its own. Changing settings on router and Smart Lock helps to get the device online again.

So to sum it up:

  1. Connection to Wifi and Web API is not very stable
  2. Smart Lock can not recover from some disconnects

I got similar problems, and gave up utilizing WiFi connection as a reliable connection. It was not connected when it was needed.
When I needed truly connected Nuki lock, I used Matter over Thread with Home assistant. This seems to be stable.
