Just the activation via Nuki. The buzzer setup itself is untouched.
And I found out that the configuration of the nuki wires can change with the setup you choose, and am I correct, that you choosed other doors when setting up the opener in the nuki app!?
Nope, I chose intercom (generic → analogue) because “other door” only supports opening, not ringing (at least that’s what Nuki describes).
Its a issue, because buzzer is between blue and purple, and blue is normally connected to buzzer and purple normally to gnd, and the opener shorts the circuit between them, what is the same as the buzzer button does (it shorts buzzer and gnd), so surely blue belongs to the buzzer block, but I don’t know, what it does when purple is connected to the ring line!? But maybe buzzer works also between blue and black, so try blue to buzzer and black to gnd.
Yes, that’s what I tried already. When connecting purple to the ring line ringing works perfectly fine. But the black doesn’t work for the buzzer when using Nuki.
Blue is the buzzer on opener, and purple or black are both gnd’s, for the buzzer you need blue.
I know, maybe I was unclear. I meant black as ground for the buzzer doesn’t work. The blue is clear.
As from this figure black shouldn’t have any use in this setup anyway.
I see, in this configuration black is the gnd for the audio lines (red and orange), but this is also the issue, because you see also with this configuration, that purple is gnd for blue, but you connected purple to your ring line, and so it can’t activate the buzzer anymore, because when it shorts blue and purple in your configuration for buzzing, the blue gets no gnd and so the depending circuit will not closed, and so for no buzzing.
I noticed some, your screenshot is for other doors, but you have written you chose generic analogue, but for generic analogue this is the wiring configuration?
Hi Rose,
sorry for not answering, still appreciate your help. Just didn’t have the motivation AND time to keep on.
Maybe I wasn’t clear. I understand what you lastly wrote and purple was only connected to the ring line for testing. But of course I put it back on gnd so the buzzer works fine again.
The problem is still that Nuki gets a ring signal while the bell doesn’t actually ring. When connecting purple to the ring line that issue was “solved” – but as written in that scenario the buzzer, of course, didn’t work anymore.
I have a idea, there are some intercoms what are half analogue and half digital, and some people are using the red wire (audio opener) for ring detection, but this has to be activated from remote from a employee of nuki, but they do this when asking, and maybe you can benefit of this!?
Problems with permanently Ringingsignal on Nuki opener without Ringing ? Contact the Nuki support to Change the Software on the Opener and Following the Wireing. After That it Work with no problems.
Does this work for AC setup as well? The usual “German” transformer for bells is AC. And I got endless ringing as well if I only connect the YELLOW cable. I will try your setup, but + and - is not really a thing with AC … or is it?
Here is my setup: Nuki Opener Ring Detection on 8V AC circuit and 12V opener circuit (Generic Analog)
I did not read the entire thread, but did not find an entry for ‘external’ or ‘configuration’. Thus, I’d like to share my experience.
I also have an external bell decoupled from the buzzer. In this case, Nuki needs to update the firmware configuration, so that you will have two galvanically isolated grounds. One will then serve for the buzzer and one for the bell.
You need to contact support and ask for this reconfiguration. That works for me like a charm.
HTH
I already contacted the support as suggested by @Naydoo but they said the requested feature is not available
first of all thanks for the helpful thread, it helped me a lot with my installation. My opener also gives a constant open signal in continuous mode and ring to open. So that every 2-6 seconds the door is opened.
I tried the wiring from the HowToGuide and from this thread. Unfortunately without result.
I have contacted support and they want to help me adjust the software. I will report back when it is up and running. I need the continuous mode as we are running a vacation home.
@Valentin: Maybe you just had contact with the wrong person. Try again.
BTW: I’m also from Germany…
Took a while, but now the continuous operation and ring to open also works for me. With the help of support, the opener was accessed and a setting was made. After that I should configure again. I am very happy with it, even if it was all very time-consuming. We are still setting up a second apartment in the building, so I may again through there.
I currently have the schematic set up like this: Opener: permanently ringing - #71 by Naydoo
Hi Valentin,
did you get your Opener running? Mine is still ringing alll the time. The German support somehow couldn’t get the problem solved in the last two weeks…
