Nuki Smart Lock Pro Chrashing

Sometimes my lock is chrashing in unlatch state… so it stays in unlatch state and have to turn it manually back in position. When i look in my log there’s no information for that moment, also my MQTT connection drops en reboot at that moment.

Looks like it can’t handle all lock actions at once sometimes.

My situation is Matter via Google Hub and MQTT

Firmware: 5.3.7

My neighbor, same setup also confirmed he has the exact same issue sometimes

Same here. I had a complete crash after the unlatched kept being engaged. I couldn’t even manually turn it back. Motor was engaged. It rebooted by itself at some point.

I can confirm a very similar issue with the Nuki Smart Lock Pro (current generation, firmware 5.3.7).

After unlocking (via Auto-Unlock or from inside), the lock immediately locks twice, tries to unlock again but doesn’t complete the action, and then reports “Motor blocked”.

The only way to recover is either:

  • starting a new calibration (from outside), or
  • manually turning the lock by hand (from inside).

After that, it works normally for a while – until the issue occurs again.
I also noticed a short MQTT disconnect when the issue happens. I’m using ioBroker and have full state logs available.

Unfortunately, Nuki support has only responded with standard replies so far – no real investigation or technical feedback.
It would be really appreciated if Nuki could officially acknowledge this bug and clarify whether a firmware fix is in progress.

@Juergen can you take a look at this… i think after reporting 3 customers we can concluded it’s a bug

I’m using mosquitto version 2.0.21 as Mqtt broker
