I don’t have any widgets anymore, neither on the home screen nor on the lock screen .
The widget I had before Installing the new beta version greyed out when I installed this version, now, as said above, no widgets anymore. I am on iOS 17.7.1

By the way, the new ultra looks like the Nuki that was originally Planned when I signed up for it on kickstarter years ago - Initially, it didn’t have a Battery pack at the bottom.

I noticed that the Widgets on iOS 18.1 do not automatically update the status (locked, unlocked) so are useless. The Ultra looks like the Tedee lock.

It sounds strange that there are no more widgets. The grey out during the update is normal, afterwards the widgets should normally be available again.

What exactly do you mean by “do not automatically update”?

I use an iPhone 16 Pro with iOS18.1. When I activate the Nuki Widget it shows the ‘status’ of my 4.0 Pro lock on 4.5.0 firmware: locked or unlocked. If the lock is unlocked and I lock it, the ‘status’ in the Widget is only updated to the new ‘status’ when I push the ‘refresh’ ‘arrow’ on the right top of the Widget.

but that’s the status. Not sure what else I could do.
Can a delete the app and re-install it without loosing the settings?

have you tried restarting the phone? or setting up a new widget?
deleting the app would result in losing the settings

do you lock via widget or within the app? in both cases the status should update (at least we couldn’t reproduce your issue yet)
in case the issue persists, please create a ticket for our customer support via Menu → Help → Contact customer support, so that we get additional information and have a closer look

I restarted (so “fully”, not only “off/on”) my iPhone and disabled and enabled the Nuki Widget again. I tried it at least 10 times and made screen-recordings. When my Nuki 4.0 Pro is unlocked and I lock it via the Widget, it physically locks the door. The Widget then shows (in German in my case) as status “Nicht erreichbar” (“not reachable”). After pushing the yellow “refresh arrow” a few seconds later the correct “status” (locked) is shown. What is the purpose of this yellow “refresh arrow” anyway? I am hesitant to involve your customer support because from previous cases I fear that their first response will be “but you are using a beta-firmware”, but there is no way to go back to an “official” firmware.

I restarted and tried adding the widget again. It is not in the available widget list.

Additional Information: my Nuki 4.0 Pro is „connected“ via Matter. The Apple Home app shows the correct status. I tried it again at least 10 times: after each “change” (lock / unlock) the Widget shows the message “Nicht erreichbar” (not reachable). When I push the yellow “refresh arrow”, this message blinks 6, 7 times and then gets updated to the new “status”.

Hi,

I have the same issue with disappered widgets on iOS 17.7.1 since the update to the Nuki iOS app 2024.11.1 version.

There is no possibility to add a Nuki Widget at lock or homescreen any more and there are no Nuki related widgets availavle to select or add.

I’m using Nuki 2.0 and an iPhone XS and use German as system language too.

iPhone has been restarted and also hard rebooted - no change.

to each of you: please create a customer support ticket with the note to forward it to me directly and immediately.
As it is currently hardly reproducible, we need to have a closer look into the additional logs which are added to a CS ticket.

We are sorry for any inconvenience and will try to fix your Widget issues as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!

I posted my issue via Testflight a few days ago - is that not the prefered way for the beta program?
Anywyay, today reported also with the standard app issue reporting #538057

Ticket#538125 thx

I tried several times last evening, this night and this morning to file a “bug-report” via the Nuki app BUT (also) that does not work as one would expect.

It feels like the not-working battery-report issue: the Nuki app starts to gather “device information” which leads to the “spinning wheel” running forever.

The “solution” to stop that is to “kill” the Nuki app and gone with the wind is the text for the bug-report.

Dear Nuki: PLEASE…. This is all so annoying. Something is rotten in the state of Nuki

This was is my bug-report:

Dear Nuki,

On request of your Mr. Zoran Prodanovic: please share this with him.

I have a Nuki Pro 4.0 lock with firmware 4.5.0. I use an iPhone 16 with iOS18.1.1 with the Nuki app 2024.11.1 in the German version. The Nuki lock is connected via Matter and as Matter bridge an Apple TV 4K 128K with TVOS 18.1 is used, which is less than 4 meters away from the lock.

With the „first“, small & square Widget, the „status“ (locked / unlocked) is NOT updated automatically: you need to “push” the yellow “update arrow” on the top right of the Widget to force it to update the status. Why is there be an “update arrow” anyway? Nevertheless, Mr. Zoran Prodanovic ensured that the Widget should update automatically.

Additionally, when the Nuki lock is locked/unlocked via this Widget, the Widget first shows “not reachable” and to update the “status” it is needed to “push” the yellow “update arrow”.

Other troubles, all reported many times by many users on the Nuki developers website but never solved are:

  1. There is NEVER a battery-report generated, the “spinning wheel” in the app turns and turns and turns and turns and turns for ever.

  2. The lock regularly looses its “connection” with the Apple Home app. The “solution” for the next couple of days is to remove the battery-pack for a minute and re-insert it. No other of my Matter devices “disconnect”, only the Nuki lock.

3, The Nuki Matter implementation is really troublesome: it takes 20, 30 trials before the lock “registers”. This incredibly annoying. I have tried to change to another Matter router, an HomePod mini (since iOS18.x it is possible to select another Matter router) but with no effect. I have 9 other Matter devices and they all were easy to “register” and never loose “connection”. Some months ago Nuki wrote me that they are “working” on this issue, but when will that materialise?
