I tried several times last evening, this night and this morning to file a “bug-report” via the Nuki app BUT (also) that does not work as one would expect.
It feels like the not-working battery-report issue: the Nuki app starts to gather “device information” which leads to the “spinning wheel” running forever.
The “solution” to stop that is to “kill” the Nuki app and gone with the wind is the text for the bug-report.
Dear Nuki: PLEASE…. This is all so annoying. Something is rotten in the state of Nuki
This was is my bug-report:
Dear Nuki,
On request of your Mr. Zoran Prodanovic: please share this with him.
I have a Nuki Pro 4.0 lock with firmware 4.5.0. I use an iPhone 16 with iOS18.1.1 with the Nuki app 2024.11.1 in the German version. The Nuki lock is connected via Matter and as Matter bridge an Apple TV 4K 128K with TVOS 18.1 is used, which is less than 4 meters away from the lock.
With the „first“, small & square Widget, the „status“ (locked / unlocked) is NOT updated automatically: you need to “push” the yellow “update arrow” on the top right of the Widget to force it to update the status. Why is there be an “update arrow” anyway? Nevertheless, Mr. Zoran Prodanovic ensured that the Widget should update automatically.
Additionally, when the Nuki lock is locked/unlocked via this Widget, the Widget first shows “not reachable” and to update the “status” it is needed to “push” the yellow “update arrow”.
Other troubles, all reported many times by many users on the Nuki developers website but never solved are:
-
There is NEVER a battery-report generated, the “spinning wheel” in the app turns and turns and turns and turns and turns for ever.
-
The lock regularly looses its “connection” with the Apple Home app. The “solution” for the next couple of days is to remove the battery-pack for a minute and re-insert it. No other of my Matter devices “disconnect”, only the Nuki lock.
3, The Nuki Matter implementation is really troublesome: it takes 20, 30 trials before the lock “registers”. This incredibly annoying. I have tried to change to another Matter router, an HomePod mini (since iOS18.x it is possible to select another Matter router) but with no effect. I have 9 other Matter devices and they all were easy to “register” and never loose “connection”. Some months ago Nuki wrote me that they are “working” on this issue, but when will that materialise?
