### Product name
Nuki Smartlock Pro (Gen 5)
### Summary
Add an option to automatically suspend the timer when the lock was previously locked manually (via Keypad, button on the lock, or manual app action), so that scheduled timer actions do not run when the user intentionally locked the door before leaving the home.
### Features
I would like to request a feature that allows the Nuki Smart Lock to automatically disable or suspend the timer for the current cycle if the lock was last locked manually. Manual actions include:
- Locking via Keypad
- Locking via the button on the Smart Lock
- Locking via a manual action in the app
The timer should continue to operate normally only when the lock was closed by an automatic action such as:
- Auto‑Lock
- Timer
- Smart Actions
Ideally, this would be implemented as a simple toggle in the settings, for example: “Suspend timer if the last action was manual: Yes/No”
### Reason
When leaving the house, many users intentionally lock the door manually to indicate that they will be away for a longer period (e.g., overnight or for several days). However, the current timer continues to run regardless of how the lock was last operated. This can lead to unwanted locking or unlocking while nobody is at home.
This feature would:
- Prevent unintended timer actions during user absence
- Increase security
- Reflect real‑world usage patterns
- Reduce the need for external smart‑home automations
- Use information the lock already provides (the trigger/source of the last action), making it technically feasible
### Examples
-
We leave the house for an overnight trip and lock the door manually using the Keypad. The timer should automatically suspend itself so it does not unlock the door in the morning while nobody is home.
-
We leave the house manually using the button on the lock. The timer should not run on next morning, because the manual action indicates intentional absence.
-
If the lock was closed automatically (Auto‑Lock or Timer), the timer should continue to operate normally, because this indicates regular daily use.
-
Users without Home Assistant or other smart‑home systems would benefit from this feature directly on the lock, without needing external logic or cloud services.
