SmartLock 4 Pro Motor Blocked Issues

From time to time I see a lot of “Motor blocked (0x01)” messages in the log resulting in unreliable SmartLock behaviour. (the most fatal are: Unlock by timer accidentally unlatches the door, locking unlatches the door, locking by pressing the button (intelligent mode) unlatches the door, …)

Nuki support was friendly but asking standard questions like “did you set the right battery setting in the app”, "does locking your door require a high amount of force when the door is closed?, …

Unlocking my door by key does require a minimum of force. Even when closed. Battery settings are correct. Device is installed correctly. Latest stable firmware.

What could I try to debug further?

Or could it be an erroneous device?

Any input in this matter would be highly appreciated!

cheers,
Ron

Hello

I see you’re dealing with frequent “Motor blocked (0x01)” errors affecting your Nuki SmartLock 4 Pro’s reliability. You’ve already checked battery settings, installation, and firmware updates. To further troubleshoot you can check below steps:

Ensure there are no physical obstacles near the lock.

Confirm the door aligns properly with the lock.

Try operating the lock under varied conditions.

Keep an eye on battery voltage under load.

Share specific details with Nuki support for more help.

Hope this helps :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you
