I can confirm that it works with a standard cylinder and a cut off key just fine.
I would have wished that the base plate would be with grub screws like the old nuki plates or some sort of clamping around the cylinder. I used thin double sided foam tape and all modes from gentle to insane work fine (short testing all, using gentle right now). Only downside is that I still have the rosette on the door, hence the Nuki is not totally flush.
