Nuki ultra matter with nest hub 2

Hello,

I’ve got nuki ultra and a Google nest hub 2.
However, I can’t seem to add nuki ultra to Google home via matter.

The device is discovered, but then stops in the middle of the setup process (see screenshot).

I’m aware matter requires ipv6. And my router supports it. My ISP, however, doesn’t offer ipv6 in my area yet, so I don’t have a public ipv6. Could that be the cause?

If not, what would be the solution?

Do you have other Matter devices “connected” via the Nest hub 2?

I don’t have any other matter devices.

Doing the same via home assistant with a matter dongle gives the same result.
Device is discovered, sends me to the google home app, and stops in the exact same place.

I managed to get it to work:

  • Disabled both wi-fi bands 2.4 and 5ghz from my main router (ISP router - OptiXstar HG8247X6-8N-10)
  • I have a couple wi-fi repeaters around the house, with enough range
  • After disabling the main wifi, added the device again via google home, and it worked
  • I then re-enabled the main wi-fi, and it is still working

Any feedback on why this works would be appreciated.

Matter requires mDNS to work (Link). Maybe you have some problems with that in your network.
