Hi,
I connected a Nuki Ultra over Thread (Openthread Border Router and SLZB-MR1) with Homeassistant.
The connection is working fine for 2-3 weeks but sometimes the lock is no longer available in Home Assistant.
Ping is not working anymore and IP-address is missing.
If I restart the Nuki Ultra with long-pressing the button, it connects again becomes available in Home Assistant.
I don’t know why connection is dropped, there is no reboot/problem with the Thread adapter or HA.
How to ensure that the device will reconnect automatically?

Do you have any Thread routers (not Thread border routers) in your network?

Hi, no I only have SLZB-MR1 and the Nuki Ultra in the Thread network no other device at all.

Well… There’s your problem. Get some mains (AC) powered Thread devices like Eve Energy plugs or Nanoleaf Essentials Matter over Thread bulbs.
Thread is a mesh network after all…

Who knows? It’s your installation and only you can see the (OTBR-)logs. But it’s always nice to have a fall back router in a Thread network in case the TBR has a temporary issue.
I have at least three Thread routers per room and the mesh is rock solid!
When I think about it, the Nuki Ultra is my first battery powered End Device. (Still waiting for all the LG devices to become available…)

I will try with a additional router (so I can also check if it is a Nuki or Thread network problem), but I don’t think it is a signal quality issue it is working fine for quite a long time and border router is not far away.
I have at least three Thread routers per room and the mesh is rock solid!
If this is needed for Thread it is useless and I have to switch to Wifi.

I have a bad experience with Nuki on Thread. I am using ZBT-1 dongle, and I see daily drops of Thread connectivity fron Nuki Ultra. It connects back after some time, but it’s so unreliable that I had to fallback to mqtt, which luckily does work stable.
On the other hand Aqara (Thread ) Motion Sensor P2 sensor is rock sold, never had a single loss of connectivity, and it’s even bit further away from the ZBT-1 than Nuki.

Facing the same issue. Nuki Support is clueless and kept asking me to reconnect. I have 5 Google Nest Hub, Samsung ST Hub on Soundbar all supporting matter. However the Nuki Ultra just drops goes offline for days and suddenly comes back online.
connect over mqtt is stable but its annoying to see “MQTT Locked Door”
Also recently the yellow gear broke out of nowhere.
seems to me that Ultra is a very amateur product.
