Nuki Smart Lock Pro (Gen 5) loses calibration with shortest locking path setting (latest firmware 5.4.6)

Hi everyone,

I’ve discovered a recurring issue with my Nuki Smart Lock Pro (Generation 5) running the latest firmware.

When I set the lock to use the shortest locking path, the device repeatedly loses its calibration after a few days. After recalibrating (either via the app or manually), it works fine for a short period—but then the issue comes back. The lock begins to act as if it’s trying to turn beyond the actual end position and then fails to operate correctly.

Important details:
• This only happens when using the shortest locking path.
• With the normal locking path, calibration is stable and works without issues.
• The door itself is not the problem: it opens and closes smoothly, and there are no mechanical obstacles.
• It seems like the Nuki tries to turn further than physically possible, which causes it to lose calibration.

Can anyone from Nuki support confirm this behavior? Is this a known firmware bug? Any planned fix or workaround (besides not using shortest path)?

??? Any news

Fully opening and closing the lock with the thumbturn on the Smart Lock should also solve the problem (i.e. the lock repositions itself on manual actuation).

The Smart Locks position sensing resolution has about 10 degrees sensitivity. Maybe your shortened positions are too close to the open <> closed transition which could create weird situations and therefore you have to widen them a bit. Is this maybe causing the issue?
