Nuki Smart Lock doesn’t pull the door trap

Hello together,

I installed my first Nuki Smart Lock (Gen 4 Pro) just yesterday. So far everything seems to work fine. But I have one big issue: The Smart Lock doesn’t pull the door trap, if the door is closed. As there is only a knob on the outside of my front door, that means I can not enter without using the key - very unsatisfying.
Curiously the trap will easily be pulled by the lock if the door is open. And the trap is easy to open with the key or by turning the wheel on the Smart lock manually. I have done several calibration drives, but the issue still appears.
Any ideas what could fix or cause this problem?

Thanks a lot :raising_hand_man:

Hi,

did you set the door handle accordingly to Knob or Bar? By using that setting the Smart Lock automatically pulls the latch.

Hi Zoran,

yes, I did.

It happened to me too but, in my case, by using a silicone lubricant spray, I was able to resolve. Hope it works for you

Tried this already … no success :frowning:

Same problem. Will have to return the product if not solved as otherwise I will need to use the key all the time.

For me, it works when I pull on the door from the outside as I open it, so that the latch moves more easily. It’s a bit annoying, but better than using the key.

Hello @Ophiotox,

it sounds like your door / trap is not fully aligned once it’s closed which you also indicated with
your comment “pull on the door from the outside as I open it”, leading to the Smart Lock
having a hard time to actually pull the latch.

Generally, this is not related to the Smart Lock not working properly but your door being
slightly misaligned once closed.

You might want to have a professional check your door alignment. Feel free to contact our
support team for additional individual support as this is a developer related forum. Thanks.
