NUKI doesn't recognize users that have been inactive for at last 2 months

I am the responsible person in our club for adding and maintaining users within the NUKI Smartlock.

The problem is happening repeatedly for a number of users.

  1. User is added to the Smartlock by me.
  2. Link is sent to the user.
  3. User activates their access
  4. User uses app to open/close the door.
  5. User is absent for at least 2 months
  6. User tries to open the lock again
  7. NUKI does not accept handshake between app and user

Is there a hidden “de-activation” in the app software? When checking in the admin settings all users are active and there are no “cancellation dates” for any of the users.
