The 2x2 widget of the Android app does not require authentication to perform door lock operations, whereas the 4x1 widget does.
The issue is that an accidental unlock can often occur. Additionally, it often happens that when tapping the refresh icon on the interface, the smart lock appears offline—something that doesn’t happen with the app.
Are you really talking about an authentication (e.g. via Fingerprint/Face ID/PIN etc) or do you just want to have a warning prior to executing a lock action?
If it’s the latter we already have this setting in place, you simply can enable “confirm all lock actions” and then you will need to tap a second time in order to execute a lock action.
