Matter questions

Hello guys,

I have got a nuki ultra device, which I have connected and controlling it through mqtt only for locking.

First question is: is it possible to restrict mqtt to only allow locking events?

If I have understood correctly, matter will increase device battery life; in my house I have got ikea dirigera and echo show 4 and many echo devices.

Second question is: is it possible to use matter with echo devices without allowing that devices to unlock the door?
If possible, then, what will happen if I deactivate echo connection to the internet? When I travel, I deactivate their ssid (since Alexa devices have got my custom ssid only for them).

Third question: if I connect the nuki ultra to matter, will his connection to my mqtt server continue to work or not?

Thanks you guys

anyone else having got the same question?

No. You can restrict it do not allow any lock actions at all.

Matter per se does not increase the battery life. Thread instead of WIFI can save battery life. If you still want to have remote access for the Nuki App or want to use MQTT via Thread you need a Matter hub that supports NAT64 (e.g. AppleTV or HomePod). If your hub supports Remote Access via Thread you will see the “remote access” slider on the Matter settings page turned on. The Smart Lock automatically turns WiFi off in this case and connects to the Nuki and your MQTT server via Thread.

No

Yes, see above.
