Goal of the Matter API
Matter is a unified, open-source connectivity standard that enables smart home devices from various manufacturers to seamlessly interoperate. It simplifies the smart home experience by ensuring devices can communicate regardless of brand, enhancing compatibility and user convenience. Matter is standardized by the CSA and supported by major Smart Home brands like Amazon, Apple, Google and Samsung.
4th Gen and 5th Gen Nuki Smart Locks support Matter via Thread.
Matter is also used for provisioning the Thread radio of the Smart Lock, which can - with a supported Smart Home hub - also be used for the MQTT API, Web API or to access the Smart Lock from remote through the Nuki App.
