How does iPhone actually connect?

Morning,

So I have a Nuki Smart Lock 2.0, Nuki Opener and Nuki Bridge in my apartment. I am on the ground floor apartment and not too far from the main entrance but obviously just far enough away for the Bluetooth not to connect to either the Smart Lock or Opener. This is not an issue when everything works as expected but the other night my internet was down and left the apartment without my keys.

Obviously when I got back, I was unable to open the apartment door. I also wanted to add a keypad in my letterbox.

So, I could easily move the bridge closer to the main entrance where the Smart Lock and Opener would still be able to connect. Is it possible to connect the Nuki Keypad and iPhone to the Bridge to open the devices or does the Bluetooth signal only travel directly to the devices themselves?

As far as I know the devices are connected via Bt to the bridge and the bridge is exposed via wifi to the network and web, so it would be easier to make WiFi available at your entrance.

But if you have an opener, why do you not activate ring to open? There is no internet needed and your phone will connect via BT to your door lock when you are in reach.
