Google TV Streamer as Matter border router and Hub

Hello everyone,

got my nuki ultra yesterday and would like to know, if the Google TV Streamer is working as a Hub.
It has built in matter over thread, i connectet the lock via matter, but the remote access is not working ( only with wifi ).
Can anyone help ?
I would like to switch off the wifi connection and only use thread, but there is no chance to get access to the nuki app from outside.

Thanks …

???

No one, who can tell, if the google streamer is suitable as a matter hub ?
Every time i activate the remote access toggle, it is turning off by itself after 2 seconds.
Remote access only via wifi connection.

Google does not disclose which of their thread enabled hubs support NAT64 which is needed for remote access through the Nuki App to work.

The remote access toggle is only shown if the feature is supported by the hub. If the feature is not supported it is greyed out.

Yours seem do not work and therefore it is greyed out. i.e. Google TV streamer currently does not seem to support the needed feature. As this is basically a software feature it might come with a future update though.

P.S.: In the future this will be a bit easier to check, because all Thread 1.4 capable routers, have to support it. Most devices on the market today are Thread 1.3 devices.

Hey Jürgen,
at first, thanks for the reply.
The remote access toggle is not greyed out in the settings.
When the Ultra is connected via wifi and you turn on the thread remote access toggle, it will switch back after one second.
When wifi is switched off and you turn on the toggle, it stays on but is not showing a connection ( pictures ) .
After a while it says " no connection via matter "
You said, the hub has to have thread 1,4, which hub on the market can handle the remote access via thread ?

Thank you and i look forward to your reply…

Greetings

The Smart Lock has to “test” (by trying to connect) if the remote access via Thread is possible. This can take 1-2 minutes. i.e. if the switch becomes disabled shortly after enabling it, this means that you router does not support NAT64 (yet).

No, that’s not what is said. Every hub that has Thread 1.4 will have to have it (there are no Thread 1.4 hubs out there yet). Others might have it, such as all Apple thread hubs (AppleTV, HomePod Mini) and the Google Nest WIFI Pro. If you use a Raspberry with HomeAssistant as hub, you can also enable it.

We’re currently updating the list of hubs which we know to support it. Please check back the link i posted above in a few weeks.
