To stop unlatching (i.e. open) immediately when a unlock/lock action is pressed instead of waiting for a fixed duration to pass
Features
Lock & Unlock action should override the unlatch duration, and allow latch to rest as soon as the Lock/Unlock is pressed. No need to wait the whole unlatch duration to pass before the latch is reset. This would allow closing and locking certain types of door properly.
Reason
Currently unlatch is set to a fixed duration in app, e.g. 1secs to 30secs. If the lock is unlatched, you cannot lock/unlock before the duration is ended. Unlatching is required for knob or bar door, thumb-turn lock, and 3-point or multi-point door locks, and would usually need a longer unlatch duration. However, these door won’t close and lock properly until the latch is reset.
Examples
- For 3-point door lock: you can set a longer unlatch duration to prepare for slow entry. But as soon as the door sensor sees the door is opened, reset the latch and allow closing the door immediately.
- For Auto-unlock: to compensate the inaccuracy in geofencing or parking near the lock , you can set a longer unlatch duration to keep the lock open longer to allow time for you to get to the lock. As soon as you successfully open the door, the latch is reset and door can be closed properly.
