Expose button (via API)?

Is there a way to catch a SL button press?
I would like to map my own actions and automations to it rather than using only the preconfigured ones in the app.
My use-case: as there is no way to manually activate auto-unlock I would like to use the button of the SL (which is inside the apartment) to activate a zigbee button outside the apartment to open the door by a button press.

Yes, through the MQTT API.

Oh, OK. But that’s cannot be used with SL 2.0 or bridge, I assume…

Yes. Needs an IP connection directly from the Smart Lock (= Smart Lock 3 & 4 Pro or Smart Lock 4 with Remote Access via Thread).

That’s a pity.
Do you have any other ideas to realize my use-case without yet another button on the door?
Any chance that this will come to the web or bridge API knowing that you don’t share the roadmap?

A few ideas:

  1. Get a Nuki Fob and place it outside the door (or in your pockets) when you walk out.
  2. Place the Nuki Fob on the outside permanently and trigger an automation when you walk outside that enables/disables it through the Nuki Web API
  3. Get a Nuki Keypad and unlock via Fingerprint or Code
