Calibration shifting issue

TLDR; Nuki calibration shifts when I try to lock the door if lift-up handle is not lifted up. I’ve Nuki Smart Lock 3.0

I’ll try to explain the door and lock as best as I can: So I moved to my new house, it is new build. While the door still a “lift-up handle” kind of door, it does not have a locking latch. When I lock the door with a key, the lock only locks the multipoint latches. So no 720 locking. Just one rotation and it is done.

Everything seems perfect at first, after calibration, it works perfectly. Even when I try to open the door, Nuki can generate enough power to unlatch it. But there is an unexpected issue that I’m having right now.

If I forget to lift up the handle before locking, Nukie tries to lock the door, but when it sees resistance of because the handle is down, it just marks the position that shows the resistance as “LOCKED” and from that moment on, it is the new locked position. The calibration entirely shifts, it does not lock even regardless of the handle position. And when it tries to open it rotates too much and throws Motor Blocked error.

What I’m expecting here is when Nuki sees the unexpected resistance (handle is down), it should give the Motor Blocked error and stop trying.

I’ve tried optimizing the calibration, 720 locking instead of 360, moving the resistance point to the locking position as much as possible but what ever I did, it did not work. Always the same outcome.

One thing I notice, on the previous door, if the handle is down the resistance is kind of different. Like resistance is soft and gradually increases. But on the new door, it is instant. no gradually increasing resistant, the key spins and just stops without any flexibility. I’m mentioning this because chatgpt says that might be the reason :slight_smile:
