APP UPDATE: Garmin App 2025.3.1

@Zoran, the Garmin app has major issues. These issues have been detailed in numerous negative user reviews. The most frustrating issue is that the app works initially after installation, but after a few days, it stops being able to unlock or open the door. Re-pairing the Garmin app with the Nuki Android app can sometimes resolve the issue temporarily, allowing the Garmin app to function for a couple more days. However, the problem inevitably recurs.

I personally tried Nuki’s Garmin app for a few weeks but found it unusable and eventually gave up. Since then, I’ve been using MagicKey for Nuki, which is more aesthetically pleasing and reliable. However, MagicKey requires the Smart Lock to be connected to the Internet (either via WiFi or Matter), whereas the Garmin Nuki Smart Lock app, in theory, can unlock or open the door even if the smart lock is not connected to the Internet.

Not addressing these issues with the Garmin app reflects poorly on Nuki’s reputation, especially since the app is developed by Nuki. Given that Nuki doesn’t seem willing to allocate the necessary resources to fix and improve its Garmin app, I’ve proposed that Nuki open-source the Garmin app code. This would allow users to contribute to fixing and improving the app.
