I’ve been experiencing this issue for like half a year and noone is able to help me.
The problem is that my Nuki Smart Lock 4 Pro doesn’t connect to Matter but only in Nuki app. Apple Home app works absolutely flawlessly and my smart lock is online. I would’ve “solved” this issue by using only Apple Home app but unfortunately it doesn’t know the difference between “unlock and open” door.
I’ve tried everything. Reseting whole lock won’t help, only thing that gets my lock back “connected to Matter” in Nuki app is when I put out battery pack and then return it back. Then it works for like two-three days and it goes offline again. I even found some advice to turn off Nuki Web and history of activities which kind of helps for extra one-two days but problem still persists.
Once again - Apple Home works fine, lock is online and I’m able to control it even when it’s “offline” in Nuki app.
Under iOS 17.x It took me 32 trials before my Nuki 4.0 Pro “registered” itself with Matter. And after 3 weeks the lock became “not reachable”…. After many, many emails back and forth, Nuki eventually sent me a replacement lock. But: same problem: unstable Matter connection. However… Since iOS 18.x you can select which home-hub to use. Although my Nuki 4.0 Pro is only 4 meters away from my Apple TV 4K, I found that the Matter “connection” is much more stable when I switched to use an Apple HomePod Mini, which is approx 12 meter away and on another floor.
Same issue.
Have configured my NUKI with Matter as discribed but after a day or two it lost connection.
Now it is not reachable any more.
Even worse, that this is in my holiday apartment 2 hours flight distance away from me.
I still can see it in my Alexa App and can open/close the NUKI. But this is not enough for me - I want to see battery status and history of people who have been opening my lock with the fingerprint device.
Especially when I am away from this location.
So it doesn’t make sense to me as a remote lock.
Any idea, if going back to WIFI makes more sense?
I am using Matter, because it should have less battery drain and it works flawless with my Alexa Echo Dot (4th Gen)
