Is it normal to have to recalibrate smart lock pro every time battery is removed?

Hi , I have had a nuki smart lock pro for about 7 weeks now , having loads of problems with keeps going offline but my wifi says its connected , I am emailing too and from with customer services , I sent them logs yesterday but still waiting to hear back.
What I have asked a few times but they have not answered is should I have to re-calibrate every time I take the battery out . could someone who has one confirm this is normal.
