Is Error 4A related to hardware problems?

Suddenly the Nuki lock (2.0) stopped turning. First I tried to calibrate again but I received the Calibration failed (Error 4A). I tried again with the door open, I also restored Nuki to factory default, but no luck.
Any ideas? Should I send the unit for service?

Error code 4A on the Smart Lock is a power error (see https://developer.nuki.io/page/nuki-smart-lock-api-200/2/#heading--keyturner-service-error-codes) which can have different reasons.

Please contact our customer support at contact@nuki.io (or via telephone). They can guide you through testing some things out and see if your device has to be exchanged.

Thanks, I called and the will exchange the defective unit with a new one.
