I would really like to have the option to set the lock’s MQTT connection to “read-only” / sensors-only so that my “potentially insecure” SmartHome has the ability to read the status of the lock and react on it, but does not have the ability to control the lock - i.e. cannot open the door (in theory, the lock should only have to ignore the command topic if the connection is set to sensors-only).

We agree with that view and will implement a setting to “Allow Lock Commands” through MQTT (Default: On).
