Problem is that the bluetooth is visible to anyone within the range. This is a concern and is an increase of risk. Your selling point is that no one have to know that one has a smartlock. But this discoverable bluetooth with the Nuki name is a BIG giveaway. Please give the user option to hide or advertise. Could you build in an option to hide or change the Bluetooth name.

Any BLE device needs to advertise in order to be reachable. You can not change that.
Changing the name would in theory be possible, but does not really help much as anyone can still connect and search for the characteristics & services the Smart Lock offers (see BLE API for more details).
Security through obscurity.
Like a fake camera that will deter 80% of thieves, i think it’s a good idea to either change the name (or at least other than nuki, otherwise malicious people already know which brand of lock you have…)
Also, i’m no ble expert, but if the lock is paired, does it need ble advertisement to connect ? if not, advertisement could be removed.

I would also highly appreciate this feature. My neighbours don’t need to know that and which Smart Lock I use. Please at least let the user choose an alternative bluetooth name.

Ditto. Last thing we need is someone driving around scanning for random “Nuki 0XXXXXX” signals whenver a vulnerability shows up. Pair this with an Angle Of Arrival scanner and there’s a big arrow hanging from the sky pointing at your house. True, bluetooth needs to advertise something but doesn’t need to literally say that there’s a “Nuki” in the vicinity.
