If you try enabling the auto unlock option on the Huawei P40 Pro, it doesn’t even save the setting. If you leave the page and open it again auto unlock is disabled again. There is no way to enable it. Could it be that this is because of missing Google mobile services on that phone?

Yes, you’re correct. Since the new Huawei phones are shipped without Google Play Services, auto unlock ( and all location based services) and push notifications are not working.
Stefan, thanks for getting back to me. I would like to enourage Nuki evaluating the Huawei Mobile Services. It is not unrealistic that more and more big players in the Android market will move away from Google. So it might become a show-stopper if one is completely dependent on Google.
